| Номын зориулалт | This book is a timely, original, and deeply important contribution to the scholarship on international arbitration. By turning sustained attention to East Asia, it addresses a striking gap in the existing literature: although the underrepresentation of women in arbitral appointments has been widely discussed in Europe and North America, far less effort has been devoted to understanding how this problem takes shape within East Asian arbitral institutions and professional communities. The value of this study lies precisely in its refusal to treat the issue as one that can be explained through universal formulas alone. Instead, it offers a careful, regionally grounded, and intellectually ambitious account of why female arbitrators remain significantly underrepresented in East Asia, and why solutions developed elsewhere may not automatically succeed there. |
